Ker Dreger - Ecomusée des révolutions agricoles
In 2023, Plouigneau Ecomuseum underwent a major transformation, with a completely revamped
visitor trail as well as a new layout for its many exhibition rooms. The new reception area, with its
shop and information point, is located opposite Plouigneau church.
Now named ‘Ker Dreger’, this ecomuseum of agricultural revolutions now offers an experience
that is even more fun and educational than before.
Allowing 1½ to 2 hours for the visit, visitors will immediately begin with the new scenery and
backdrops that help you to understand agricultural evolutions from Neolithic times up to the
present day, as well as the activity rooms and the space with wooden games.
The tour continues in the courtyard, where you can discover the various farm buildings, including
a pigsty, cowshed, dairy and stable. As for the house itself, that conjures up the daily life of our
ancestors, from 1900 to the 1970s, complete with a living room and bedrooms.
Continue your tour by visiting the gallery of agricultural equipment, which showcases 1,700m² of
innovative agricultural machinery, including internal combustion engines, iron-wheeled tractors
(1916), plus mowing and cereal-threshing machines. You can take a look at a mock street filled
with different trades such as clog and carpentry workshops, a blacksmith’s forge, a saddlery and
a shoemaker’s workshop. Also worth seeing are the 1950s grocery shop/bar, the bread oven, a
1950s-style classroom and the hairdressing salon.
Ker Dreger is a lively spot, run by volunteers and staff. Several events are organised every week in
summer, and it is possible for clubs and companies to hire rooms here on request.
Please see the Ecomuseum website for further details.
